The 2017 TMAT

Friday, February 17th, 2017

Hi Everyone! We’ve announced on Facebook that the 2017 Todd Morrison Alumni Tournament will be held March 17th & 18th at the  usual spot: the Box Elder High School basketball gymnasium.

About this year’s recipient:

Chloe RamosChloe Ramos is our recipient of the 2017 Todd Morrison Alumni Tournament. Chloe is the beautiful 3 year old daughter of TJ and Kimberly Ramos of Perry, Utah. Chloe loves her new big girl bed, watching her favorite shows “Sophia the First” and “Shimmer and Shine”, and making hideouts with her older brother Rocky when he comes home from 1st grade. She is fun and loving and can light up a room with her big smile.

Sadly, sweet Chloe is in the fight of her life. At 7 weeks old, she was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, which is a rare life-threatening liver disease found in infants. She was born without a gall bladder, and simply put, her liver doesn’t drain properly. If that wasn’t enough, she is experiencing kidney failure as well. Chloe has courageously taken this challenge head on, but is currently waiting for suitable donor(s) on liver and kidney transplant lists.

As many of us can only imagine, this experience has been extremely difficult for TJ and Kimberly. It is obvious to see that they are very supportive of Chloe and Rocky and they are happy to also be expecting their third child come August! They have moved to Perry in order to be closer to Primary Children’s Hospital and be around family as well. They are currently living in a small basement apartment and have set a goal to be able to one day find a place of their own. Kimberly, who went to Adele C. Young Intermediate School and has family who graduated from Box Elder High School, has local ties as well.

Quite simply, Chloe is a fighter. She has already beat the statistics for Biliary Atresia and is a walking miracle. Her parents have learned a lot over these last three years and would like to encourage all of us to be more familiar with organ donations and the good that they bring. There are many options for live donations as well and that as we rally together, we can bring about miracles and touch the lives of families all around us. We are blessed and excited to join with the Ramos family in the fight for their daughter Chloe!

The Todd Morrison Alumni Tournament is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization that aims to help children in need and their families. Started in 1994 by 3 men from Brigham City, Utah, the tournament is now celebrating its 24th year. Over the past 2 decades, we have raised Over $200,000 for children in our community.

We have an annual alumni basketball tournament as our main fundraiser. Hundreds of people come each year to watch their sons, husbands, and friends enjoy a weekend of renewing lost rivalries, and seeing old friends. At the tournament, we also have a silent auction to raise additional funds.

We ask for local donations, because 100% of our proceeds stay local. This year, the recipient is Chloe Ramos, daughter of TJ and Kimberly Ramos of Perry. She is a beautiful 3-year-old girl with a life threatening condition. She is currently on a transplant list for a liver and a kidney. The Ramos family is fighting for their daughter, and as a tournament, as a community, we are all fighting for her too.

Thank you for considering us as a recipient of your donation.
